I was slightly disappointed in this book. Oh, not in a way that I didn't enjoy it. I did enjoy it thoroughly. It was a just a wee bit off for me. I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe it was because it was a little jumpy, but it just wasn't as good as her previous book, My Sweet Cory.
That being said, I did like the complexity of the characters and the plot line. While the plot line was jumpy, it was still VERY suspenseful, as Sara set out to find who was behind the HUGE over-turned truck accident. There were lots of twists to the angle, and it really kept me guessing. Sara and Gabe were characters that were full of emotion and flaws and really captured the heart of this reader.
All in all, this was a 4-star book. I think that everyone who loves a Godly book full of suspense and twists will love this Pat Gillespie book. And, despite the bit of jumpiness, I will not let that prevent me from reviewing future Pat Gillespie novels, as she has truly proven her worth as an author with her book My Sweet Cory! If you want a fast read that is filled with great characters and up and down suspense, then please give Pat Gillespie's Shattered Tears a try. I am sure that you will be able to overlook the jumpiness of the story and look at the quality of the author's writing!
