Shopping Brake: Proven Tips to Stop Shopping Wrong, and Start Shopping Right for a Wardrobe You Love by Lisa Deerwood is one of the best books I have read on shopping smart and saving money. It doesn’t only provide tips on shopping but serves as an eye-opener on how poor shopping habits can contribute to the mess most people experience in their wardrobes. As I read from page to page, I felt as though the author was speaking directly to me. The author starts by showing readers what happens when they shop mindlessly, and moves from there to share some tips on de-cluttering, the basics of closet cleaning, figuring out one's personal style, and what shopping intelligently looks like.
While this book seems to speak mostly to women, it has a lot for men and as I read through I could see myself reflected in the mindset Deerwood speaks about. This is a book that provides real value to shoppers and that educates readers on what it takes to shop right, to make sure they don’t spend money on things they don’t need. You don’t want to have a full wardrobe and yet cry: “Oh no, I don’t have anything to wear” when you need something to wear. Lisa Deerwood shares tips and insights that will help anyone to shop smart and to make wise choices when it comes to their wardrobe. Shopping Brake: Proven Tips to Stop Shopping Wrong, and Start Shopping Right for a Wardrobe You Love is engaging, rich in content, and written in a style that captivates the reader.
