I suppose I was drawn to this little gem by Sophia Elan because 15 years ago I visited London, met a man, and never left. It can really happen, folks! There are a few things that I really loved about Sicilian Seductions. The first is that there is some sizzle, but it does not happen for quite some time. There is an instant attraction between Sofia and Leo, but they don't jump into the sack or fall ridiculously in love from page zero. I felt like the emphasis on Sofia just needing to be and to find herself was the perfect choice, and it is a testament to the restrained hand of a skilled writer. Elan nails the food and architecture and describes them all in near cinematic detail, down to the history. I read my fair share of travelogues, so that appealed to me. This is a character-driven novel, and there isn't a discernible plot beyond Sofia reconnecting with herself and connecting with Leo, but that's okay too. For readers who love improbably sweet scenes, like a man carrying an injured woman home, then, like me, you will fall in love with this book. It ends on a cliffhanger but is good enough for me to wait to see what comes next. Very highly recommended.

In the story we follow Sophia, who after being heartbroken gets a one way ticket to Sicily, for a new start and new life.

Our protagonist compares herself with the fictional character, “Katniss,” from “The Hunger Games.” And when you'll read the book you'll get a glimpse of it from time to time. I absolutely like Sophia, she's so good, confidant, headstrong, generous at the same time she also has her low in this journey and before it too, but how she never backs down and keeps going to find her happiness and fulfillment in life.

As a love story her relationship with Leo is really interesting, full of emotions and heartbreak too. Her relationship with the new family she makes is more compelling to read.

As for the travelogue, the author through our protagonist beautifully painted Sicily, with its scenic beauty, culture and most importantly food. That at a time you would love to visit there and experience it yourself.

So overall the book is just a perfect read in every way, but the ending with cliffhanger and with a hint of another journey, another book, I'm ready to read.

After that we meet Leo, a person Sophia starts to feel more about and his family too. With whom she very quickly felt closer and felt home too. And her relationship with Leo as well as with the family explores many emotions and family dynamics and friendships. And the way the book ends I can't wait to read the next one soon.
