Simple Sleep Solutions: And How to Profit from Your Dreams by JP Nicolais begins with a peep into sleep enhancers like having a clear conscience, having a purpose or mission in your life etc. After a brief mention of sleep-enhancers like moderate exercise and sleep-demons like nicotine, JP introduces his technique – conduct a virtual journey in time and space through some pleasant days. Occasions like happy days of one's childhood, performance by a favorite team, or visiting a much loved spot could be chosen for this journey, which can continue until one falls asleep. This book also contains a bonus chapter, a brief insight into dreams as a symbolic language that seems to inhabit practical thoughts, but in reality reflects our fundamental nature.
Simple Sleep Solutions: And How to Profit from Your Dreams by JP Nicolais offers a simple and pragmatic solution to the problem of the inability to sleep and is worth trying. His rather simple and easy analysis of dreams is also organized, thus our daydreams about career success, marriage, a day at the beach, or a juicy steak are conscious and directed fantasies, while dreams are unconscious fantasies. The reasons mentioned for arriving at these findings could have been explained in greater detail to give more authenticity, though I was not able to notice anything illogical. As JP proclaims, “the process of gaining greater awareness leads us to a more complete daily life, and can promote deeper sleep patterns and more active connection to our dreams”. A good array of websites and other references are included for further study.
