Sir Pigglesworth's Adventures in Bermuda by JoAnn Wagner and Sara Dean is book five in the Sir Pigglesworth Adventure Series. This elementary age graded picture book features a cast of silly and lovable animals, of whom the most noteworthy is the title character, Sir Pigglesworth. Sir Pigglesworth is a quirky and humorous pig who takes readers on fun and educational adventures. He's a somewhat wacky, somewhat clumsy, somewhat curious, but all-round really fun children's book character! In this book, Sir Pigglesworth takes a cruise to Bermuda. And as with the other Sir Pigglesworth books, readers know by now that he doesn't do anything the ordinary way. From breaking down his dance moves to swimming with sharks, to learning all there is to know about the exciting place called Bermuda, there's never a dull moment here.

The story is brought to vivid life by illustrator David Darchicourt's bright and humorous illustrations. The author's even added an educational element to the book to promote learning new facts about the world around us, along with reading, and includes details about Bermuda here and there. As a mom, I liked the extra educational elements and did not find them forced or misplaced in the story. I think kids will come away from this book laughing from the fun story, but also able to quote a few new facts about what they learned. I look forward to checking out more Sir Pigglesworth books in the future. I would recommend this book and series to elementary age children, probably in the 1st to 4th grade range.

Sir Pigglesworth's Adventures in Bermuda: Sir Pigglesworth Adventure Series, Book 5 is a travel adventure story book for children, grades K-3, written by JoAnn Wagner and Sara Dean, and illustrated by David Darchicourt. Sir Pigglesworth is excited to be meeting up with his friends, JoAnn and Bill, but he doesn’t know about the exciting trip they're all about to embark upon. That first night at dinner, the three friends chatted about what they've been doing; then they went for an early night in their hotel rooms to get ready for their cruise to Bermuda the next day. Sir Pigglesworth was thrilled to be going on a boat, and the Norwegian Breakaway would provide endless hours of fun for the young pig. The children's Splash Academy had climbing walls, water slides, and even a plank that the plucky piglet was brave enough to walk. Then, they finally made land at King's Wharf in Bermuda, and the three explored the Royal Naval Dockyard and Dockyard Glassworks. There were so many things to do and see in Bermuda, and Sir Pigglesworth was determined to do them all, from flying in a jetpack to swimming with sharks.

JoAnn Wagner and Sara Dean's Sir Pigglesworth's Adventures in Bermuda follows the three friends and fellow adventurers as they travel by cruise ship to Bermuda. JoAnn and Bill never know what sort of mischief their royal buddy will get into next, and it's loads of fun watching as they gamely help him out of the zaniest situations. Book 5's story line expands children's worlds by showing them what a cruise would be like and then immersing them in the history and natural beauty of Bermuda. David Darchicourt's illustrations are outstanding in this tale; they're colorful and amusing, and we always get to see Sir Pigglesworth at his best -- well, most of the time, at least, but the other times are just too much fun to give away in this review. One thing that I love about this series is the educational aspect of Sir Pigglesworth’s adventures. I've learned something from each book in the series, and had a lot of fun at the same time. Sir Pigglesworth's Adventures in Bermuda is an exceptional book for story time and the perfect challenge for young readers who've advanced beyond their first primers. It's most highly recommended.

Sir Pigglesworth's Adventures in Bermuda is Book 5 in the Sir Pigglesworth Adventure Series, written by JoAnn Wagner and Sara Dean and illustrated by David Darchicourt. On this adventure, Sir Pigglesworth meets his friends JoAnn and Bill in New York City and they take him on a surprise cruise to Bermuda. There is so much to see and do aboard the ship, including joining the Splash Club with swimming and playing on the waterslide, to having a scavenger hunt, and even climbing a rock wall. Although tired from all his adventures, Sir Pigglesworth even gets to meet the Captain and to sit at his table for dinner, even though he is so exhausted that he falls asleep at a crucial time. When the ship docks in Bermuda, his friends take him exploring on an exciting journey to all the special places Bermuda has to offer.

This is the second book in the series that I have read, and I have to say Sir Pigglesworth is a real character. He is full of fun and mischief, and it is really enjoyable and very entertaining following him on his adventures. Once again, authors JoAnn Wagner and Sara Dean have created a fun-packed yet informative story, beautifully enhanced by the stunning illustrations by David Darchicourt. Sir Pigglesworth and his adventures are really endearing stories that every child will love. His mischievous personality really comes across as he rollercoasters from one disaster to another. Great fun and bound to be a hit with all his followers.
