Sir Pigglesworth's Adventure in New York City by JoAnn Wagner is another unpredictable adventure for Sir Pigglesworth, this time in New York City, as he continues the search for his parents. Sir Pigglesworth's Adventure in New York City is a fun story with a few history lessons thrown in, all interesting and enjoyable for both the adult and child reader. Sir Pigglesworth is adorable and mischievous, his antics are humorous and endearing, and his trip around New York City is both entertaining and educational. This is certainly a book that children of all ages will thoroughly enjoy. I found myself laughing out loud as I read along.

JoAnn Wagner's Sir Pigglesworth's Adventure in New York City is sure to become a favorite for many children. Sir Pigglesworth's adventures are sometimes unexpected, and always funny and sweet while you try to anticipate just what he will do next. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade incident is priceless. The artwork throughout the book is well done and appealing to all ages. JoAnn Wagner's story moves at a nice pace, holds your interest, and has great illustrations, all of which are essential for a child's book. Injecting historical details is a nice bonus to an already entertaining story, and offers a whole different dimension to the book. I appreciated how Sir Pigglesworth's friend and traveling companion, JoAnn, finds a way to use different situations as teachable moments for Sir Pigglesworth as well as the reader.

Sir Pigglesworth’s Adventures in New York City: The Sir Pigglesworth Adventure Series, Book 3 is an educational adventure storybook for children, grades K-3, written by JoAnn Wagner and Sara Dean, and illustrated by David Darchicourt. When Sir Pigglesworth and JoAnn were in Vancouver, they realized that they’d have to follow the Duke and Duchess of Pigglesworth to New York City in order to reunite Sir Pigglesworth with his parents. Luckily for the plucky piglet, it was just before Thanksgiving, and he’d get to see the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Little did he or JoAnn know, however, that he’d actually play a major role in the parade himself! New York City is a special place during the Christmas season, and the two friends have a blast taking a spin around the Rockefeller Center Ice Skating Rink, taking a ferry to Ellis Island, exploring the world’s best toy store, and remembering the fallen at the 911 Museum.

JoAnn Wagner and Sara Dean’s educational adventure storybook for children, Sir Pigglesworth’s Adventures in New York City, is festive and bright at times, and at other times injects a more serious note as they visit the 911 Museum and Ellis Island. Seeing Sir Pigglesworth transformed into one of the parade floats is priceless, and the exploits this rascally little pig gets up to are endlessly creative and funny. David Darchicourt’s illustrations are colorful and work so well with the story. He adds so much dimension to Sir Pigglesworth’s character with the wide range of facial expressions he gives the young pig. Sir Pigglesworth’s Adventures in New York City: The Sir Pigglesworth Adventure Series, Book 3 gives young readers a marvelous tour of the city courtesy of their royal emissary, Sir Pigglesworth, and it’s most highly recommended.

Sir Pigglesworth's Adventures in New York City by JoAnn Wagner is Book 3 in The Sir Pigglesworth Adventure Series. Sir Pigglesworth is not your average five-year-old pig, but he is like your average five-year-old child where curiosity, adventure, and mischief take over. Sir Pigglesworth's Adventures in New York City is a beautifully colorful illustrated children's book about history and adventure. Sir Pigglesworth got separated from his parents, Duke and Duchess Pigglesworth. Sir Pigglesworth and his friend, JoAnn, embark on an adventure in New York City while looking for them. While in New York City, JoAnn gives Sir Pigglesworth a history lesson on several elements that make New York City great, from the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island to the Empire State Building. Also, JoAnn shares with Sir Pigglesworth the tragedy of 9/11. As Sir Pigglesworth and JoAnn visit each historical place, hoping to find the Duke and Duchess, Sir Pigglesworth can't seem to stay out of trouble.

I found Sir Pigglesworth's Adventures in New York City a joy to read. As Sir Pigglesworth becomes curious about his surroundings, he takes the reader on an adventurous journey from sneaking and eating doughnuts for breakfast and posing as a balloon at the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, to taking the train off the railroad tracks and riding with his new friends, twins Paige and Kenzie, through FAO Schwartz. The fun never stops in Sir Pigglesworth's Adventures in New York City: The Sir Pigglesworth Adventure Series, Book 3.
