Sir Tulip and Bumblebee by Silvia Marsz is a bright and colorful book for kids. Written from the viewpoint of plants and insects, the book revolves around Sir Tulip and Bumblebee. Sir Tulip stood tall in his red clothes in the meadow where he lived. All the bees came and kissed his nose and the flowers whispered about his looks. Bumblebee had heard about this handsome Tulip and asked him to be his friend. But Sir Tulip snubbed him, saying they were not equal. Would they become friends? The story speaks about friendship, relationships, and kindness.

The story conveys some beautiful messages to young readers and the author's words and pictures make the concept and the messages very clear. The pictures are bright and they make the characters and the story come alive with color and movement. The arrogance of Sir Tulip is palpable to readers and at the same time they will be captivated by the kindness and friendship of Bumblebee. It's an excellent story to read during bedtime and is good for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries.

The book explains the meaning of friendship and loyalty effectively. Readers can connect well with the characters of Sir Tulip and Bumblebee. The rhyming verses lend a lyrical quality and give the conversation a good pace and rhythm that make reading the story interesting. It's a book worth owning in one's personal collection as it teaches children the meaning of friendship, kindness, and loyalty.
