Pets provide great company and are a source of comfort for children, even when they are facing difficult life lessons. Keep in mind that a pet is a big responsibility, so it's best to talk to children in plain terms before adopting any kind of animal. Small Things Lil Peter Make A Big Difference highlights the effort it requires to take proper care of a pet. The story concerns Lil Peter, who must first assist at a rescue center before adopting a puppy. In doing so, Lil Peter realizes the work that is needed, such as feeding and cleaning. At first, the activities seem complicated, but Lil Peter is happy to help. Peter Valdez and Tasche Laine have created the perfect story to illustrate the responsibility of pet ownership.
Small Things Lil Peter Make A Big Difference is not only about caring for animals. The rescue center theme is also relevant because it shows how even providing a little help can go a long way. Lil Peter learns that if he helps with small things, the puppies he cares for can be adopted, which is why small acts of kindness are so important. I enjoyed the book because the story will encourage children to be kinder and, in doing so, understand the joy of helping others. I enjoyed the drawings because of their captivating and expressive style. Peter Valdez and Tasche Laine offer sound advice, providing parents with the necessary information to speak clearly on the subject of having a pet, with all that it entails.
