How often do you give your kids a warning that it's nearly time to leave, only to find they still aren't ready? Socks and Shoes by Ashley Hohmann takes you on a sweet journey to find out why your kids can't get ready on time, even with plenty of warning. Ten minutes before going out is more than enough time for the kids to go on a journey of their own. Perhaps they could be pirates or go on an African safari. Or they could build a castle or explore a volcano. Ten minutes is such a long time for adventures – until it's time to go, and they still don't have their socks and shoes on. What on earth were they doing all that time?
Socks and Shoes by Ashley Hohmann is a cute story about the imaginations of kids. It has some lovely, colorful illustrations that bring the story alive, and accurately details how kids' minds work. Children have very creative minds, and ten minutes is more than enough time to have some cool adventures. This book is a lovely way to fuel that creative side, to let your kids' imaginations run riot and see what they can come up with. It's also a great way for parents to understand why ten minutes warning is never enough time for their kids to get their socks and shoes on – far too many adventures waiting to be had! This is a well-written story that uses simple language, making it easy for young readers to understand and follow and the colorful illustrations turn it from being a simple story into an adventure in itself. Highly recommended for kids of all ages.
