Sophie and Scottie's Adventures of Something's Fishy (The Adventures of Sophie and Scottie) (Volume 2) by Cindy C Murray is a fascinating story that revolves around the adventures of Sophie and Scottie. In this book, readers find them trying to resolve a mystery on a Pacific island after Dr Drake hands them an envelope from Auntie Jill. The magical frame Auntie Jill sent them looked similar to the one they were given earlier and this one looked normal. Her descriptions are clear and the girls wonder if they will be able to ride their horses through the frame. The sisters are excited and they keep wondering if this is the beginning of another adventure. Will they be able to solve the mystery on the island?
For all those readers who love adventure, mystery, and whimsy, this book is the perfect choice. Children will love to take a trip with sisters Scottie and Sophie and explore the island. The narration is detailed and descriptive, making the scenes vivid, and the author builds up the mystery and excitement cleverly. The fluidity in expression gives a good pace and movement to the story and that will keep readers entertained and glued to the book till the last page. The story highlights the decision making skills of these two girls again, and their team work. It is a fantastic educational book, and has some good messages for readers. Readers will definitely be waiting for the next book, wondering where they will be going with Sophie and Scottie.
