Spiritual Amnesia: A Wake Up Call To What You Really Are is an inspirational self-help book written by Lauren Skye. The author is a meditation facilitator and the founder of the Inner Connection Institute. She posits that many human beings forget that they are spiritual beings and get bogged down in matters of their worldly existence. Sometimes, it can be a reaction to repressive and controlling factors, such as the organized religions that indoctrinate so many while they are young. Skye shows how to begin the process of healing and getting back in touch with your spiritual self. She presents a number of carefully guided meditations to help you become aware of and in control of energy; learn to view things as a spiritual being; and apply these skills to everyday life and existence.
Reading Lauren Skye's inspirational self-help book, Spiritual Amnesia: A Wake Up Call To What You Really Are, won't automatically heal all that's ailing with your mind, body and psyche, but a careful reading and application of the guided meditations offered therein should get you well along on your journey. I've been a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation for many years and was excited to see how Skye brings each meditation to a higher level. I was fascinated by her descriptions of the flow of energy and how one can direct these forces while meditating. It was also marvelous to finally get a succinct and clear take on chakras, what they are, and how to work with them. Skye's writing style is friendly and informal; it's almost as if she's there in the room coaching you as you follow her guidelines for each meditation. I was both impressed and motivated by Spiritual Amnesia: A Wake Up Call To What You Really Are. It's most highly recommended.
