Spotlight on Love is a story of finding and keeping love at the start of World War II. Helen is an emergency room nurse in a Rhode Island Hospital. She has dreams of being a singer, but because of the economic times she is forced to give up her dreams of ever becoming a doctor or a singer to help out her family. She endures her everyday nursing duties until her blind date with William “Red” Williamson. Red is a handsome, take-charge man and it isn’t long before Helen knows she cannot live without him. Within a very short time of their dating, the attack on Pearl Harbor takes place and the world is changed forever. Red and Helen both follow their instincts and enlist. Helen and Red become entwined in a dangerous situation that puts them both in danger and threatens their budding relationship.

We are given the privilege of sharing in the horrors of war and the emotions that they evoke. Spotlight on Love focused on Helen and Red and we had an up-close and personal feel for the 'life and death' danger of secret missions. Regina Andrews did her homework and wrote with accuracy of war and love. There were times when I would have liked just a little more detail; the ending was quick and with very little fanfare, but, overall, it was a very enjoyable book. If you are a fan of World War II battles and romance, then this book is for you.
