Spring Harvest is a work of fiction penned by author Rektok Ross in the thriller, supernatural, and suspense genres. It is best suited to mature teen and adult readers. Readers are invited into a thrilling tale set at a rural music festival where friends must navigate a vampire siege. Alix Summerlin and her friends anticipate a carefree weekend at the Garlic Groove Music Festival, but when festival-goers start disappearing and a mysterious stranger warns of danger, Alix realizes sinister forces are at play. As chaos erupts, Alix discovers the town's dark secret: bloodthirsty vampires have taken over, and it's up to her, along with her ex, Logan, and the enigmatic Kade, to save Allium Valley and prevent a catastrophe.
Author Rektok Ross has crafted an exhilarating thriller, bringing readers all the chaos of music festivals, the heady heights of romance, and plenty of supernatural suspense along the way. The gripping narrative is packed with sudden twists and fun surprises that keep readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. I was taken by the realism of the events and how characters reacted to them in such convincing ways. The tension escalates as Alix and her companions race against time, and the plot reflects this with a confident control of each scene and how the action plays out. The dynamic relationships between the characters were also a special highlight for me, particularly Alix's conflicting emotions toward Logan and her growing trust in Kade. I found the dialogue to be truly age-authentic and a great tool for characterizing their attitudes and relationships as they changed toward each other. Overall, Spring Harvest is a must-read for fans of thrilling supernatural adventures that I couldn’t put down.
