Sprinkles by Allison Wood is a delightful read. Julia has just moved to a new apartment with her dad, and there's a bakery nearby! Grandma is on her way to help them unpack, so while they wait, Julia and her dad visit the bakery for a yummy treat. Her dad offers to buy donuts and asks which kind she wants. After much consideration, Julia picks a pretty pink one with sprinkles! The story then takes an amusing approach to describe what everyone knows about sprinkles - that they never stay put. Realizing the mess she's made, she attempts to clean up before Grandma gets there, but they are all over the kitchen. Oops! This story is filled with humor, family, and bright, colorful pictures.

I found Sprinkles by Allison Wood to be an entertaining picture book, with extra humor and a fun ending! I loved reading it. Samuel Waddle's illustrations provide another level to the humorous events of the story. I loved the art style and how the pictures included all those sprinkles. The bold colors and exaggerated scenes add to the humor, and I loved seeing Julia's reaction. I also really liked seeing her spending time with her dad and grandma. This was a highly enjoyable story that many readers can relate to. Sprinkles are one of those things children love, and it's something that many parents also enjoy as a way to bond with their kids.
