"Stealer of Horses" is a novel featuring Jeff McQuede, a sheriff who lives in a small town in the Black Mountain Reservation. A beautiful, engaging woman called Susan Spence goes missing and is presumed dead. She is in possession of a large amount of money from the successful sale of an exquisite painting. Susan is spotted getting into a Gray Chevy with a man sporting blond hair and a cowboy hat. In an attempt to find her, McQuede is led from one suspect to another. Each suspect has a motive in the disappearance of Susan. What has happened to Susan? No one seems to know.

Loretta Jackson and Vickie Britton have authored a tremendous story that is on par with the best mysteries available on the market. "Stealer of Horses" is an absolute pleasure to read. It is polished, well-written and keeps you wanting for more. Their descriptions of the characters and the places are extremely vivid and the plot is cleverly thought-out. I was led down many different paths as to who the culprit was. I also tried, rather unsuccessfully, to gather my own conclusions and outwit the authors. I enjoyed every minute of the escapades and the colorful characters. The ending did not disappoint and I had a wonderful time being taken on this great journey. I am now a converted fan, as mysteries are my favorite types of books. I enjoyed McQuede’s character so much that I will be investing in more books in this series. I earnestly request all people who either like westerns or sleuth stories to purchase this dynamite book. A must read to which I award 5 stars.
