Stranger on the Shore is a mystery by William J. Borak. A woman’s body is found on the Brooklyn side of the East River by two boys. They see a woman with her dog and call for help. The woman ignores them and just walks away. Chris loses his fiancée, Theresa, and is still grieving for her. Chris meets Arielle and her dog on the beach, and they plan to meet at the party at the Garvey house. Arielle does not show up, and Chris meets Marisa, a waitress, who is also at the party. Marisa reminds Chris a lot of Theresa, and Marisa also has many memories that only Theresa would know about. There is an immediate and special connection between Chris and Marisa. Marisa later regains her memory and finally learns who she is.
This is an outstanding mystery by William J. Borak. The plot is intriguing and complicated. Stranger on the Shore had me captivated from the beginning until the end. I could not put it down, not even for a minute. I had to finish reading and find out what was going to happen. It is full of action with never a dull moment. The characters are authentic and could be anyone I know. Chris is completely out of his comfort zone with everything that is happening. The two women he just met are not who he expects them to be. The story is well-written and blew my mind. Stranger on the Shore was much more than I expected.
