Maybe this Caribbean vacation was just what she needed. Samantha enjoyed her travelling companions, Jen and Kathy, and knew that she demanded far too much of herself professionally. Yet, that annoying tug of doubt insisted on accompanying her, even on this Paradise-infused trip. Of course, Jen and Kathy were ready to play when the gorgeous gents from Manhattan approached them during their first night of vacation. Michael, Lucien, and John are obviously players. Amused at her friends' enthusiasm, Samantha does not want to be a party pooper when they insisted that she join in the fun. Just one drink? Just one dance? Surprisingly tempted to allow herself to fall completely over the edge, Samantha reins in her heart, unaware that her reluctance only adds to her sexual appeal. Before the vacation ends, Samantha is smitten with handsome business owner John, and unaware of just how strongly those feelings are returned. Scorned by a previous love, Samantha learns the true meaning of starting all over again.
Devoid of conflict and full of promise, Strangers In The Night by Cynthia Roberts is purely feel-good romance, perfect for a beach read. The second book in Roberts’ Love Song Standards Series, this novel certainly lives up to the series' title. I liked the positive appeal of this story. Mild love scenes and well-structured dialogue pull the reader into a world of fairy tale romance. This is not a title you die-hard romancers will want to miss. So, pour your favorite cocktail or freshen that afternoon cup of tea and prepare to put a smile in your heart.
