The Christmas season is one of the most anticipated times of the year. It comes with so much joy, happiness, and preparation as many families are reunited and gifts are shared. Sue Elias embodies the nature and spirit of Christmas in her children's picture book Sweet Dreams of Christmas. It shows the feeling of Christmas described through the eyes of a little child. Here, Christmas is defined as the decoration of the Christmas tree, gifts, playing in the snow, singing Christmas carols, the arrival of Santa Claus, angels singing, and animals waiting. Above all, it celebrates the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is the true reason for celebrating Christmas. With the beautiful illustrations by Remesh Ram, the author tells the story of Christmas as it is and shows the beauty and joy that come with it.
Sue Elias explained the meaning of Christmas beautifully and succinctly in just 34 pages of text and pictures. The author uses simple language to teach young readers how to appreciate Christmas. Sweet Dreams of Christmas would not be complete without the outstanding, colorful illustrations provided by Remesh Ram. The images alone tell the story of Christmas and have the potential to improve the imaginative abilities of youngsters, who can also learn to identify different colors and animals through the pictures. The story also has biblical references to teach children about the birth of Jesus Christ. This book will entertain, educate, and enrich your children's knowledge. I recommend it to children of up to 4 years of age.
