In Tempus by Holly Lauren, Chapel Ryan had been experiencing hallucinations since she was eight. After five years of treatment, the hallucinations stopped and she was convinced that, like her doctor said, the hallucinations had been due to PTSD attributed to the death of her father. But now the hallucinations were back, only there was an exception this time. Her hallucination episodes seemed to have the power to stop time and bring everything to a standstill, except for one person. The new boy in school, whom she happened to be falling for, was immune to whatever magic her mind was producing. Chapel does not know how powerful and special her gift is and that there are other people out there with similar gifts like hers, including those who would do anything to control hers.

Tempus by Holly Lauren is a flawlessly written, captivating story with good doses of enchanting young romance, amazing science fiction, intrigue and drama. Holly created a story so captivating that just after reading the first chapter, I was completely hooked. The plot is original and very easily believable and the characters came alive throughout the story. I could vividly picture the different scenes as I read and I easily connected with all the characters. Tempus is the kind of book you read so fast because you are eager to know how the story ends, but once you get to the end, you mourn because you want it go on forever; it is that good. It is an incredible YA romance and science fiction story guaranteed to give the reader a thrilling reading experience.
