That Blinding Darkness is a work of fiction in the action, fantasy adventure, and interpersonal drama sub-genres, and was penned by author John-Mark Kruger. The work is intended for the young adult and upward reading audience and transports readers to a far-flung world of dangerous supernatural figures and gunslinging fighters with survival on their minds. Our protagonist is Sep, a young man on the run with the unique stealth abilities of a shader, who finds himself taken in by a band of rebellious fighters as he struggles to find and save his sister. What results is a highly engrossing fantasy and western-style tale that is sure to keep readers turning the pages from cover to cover.

Author John-Mark Kruger has crafted a masterfully immersive work of fiction with plenty of thrills, spills, and sudden surprises to offer its readers. One of the most essential features of this work was the talent the author displays in worldbuilding through such details as the different roles that various characters take up in this new society, the terminology they use, and their reasons for rebelling against those who hold power over them. I also enjoyed the fact that the narrative was quite dialogue and interaction heavy, which would certainly help YA readers to stay interested in the plot and to deliver storyline and relationship details in a naturalistic way. Overall, I would highly recommend That Blinding Darkness to fans of new twists on classic genres, high octane, and highly visual action sequences and for readers of dark, gritty adventure novels everywhere.
