The Adventures of Amilya Rose: Father-Daughter Dance is an adventure for children by Chavonne D. Stewart. Spunky eight-year-old Amilya Rose Patterson is excited because her school will be hosting their first annual father-daughter dance. She wonders if her dad will want to accompany her and begins to worry about one of her biggest fears, dancing. Amilya does not know how to dance, but asks her friend, Leah, to teach her a few cool moves so that she will not embarrass herself. When Mrs. Patterson takes Amilya shopping, she realizes how difficult and time-consuming selecting the perfect princess dress can be, and how much effort and patience it takes to get pampered at a beauty salon. She also learns valuable lessons about herself along the way.

They are a close, loving family whose general activities are what typical families do regularly. Amilya Rose is witty and smart with similar concerns and wishes of her age group. The Adventures of Amilya Rose: Father-Daughter Dance is a cute adventure. It is a fun story and Chavonne D. Stewart's character portrayals are very accurate. Her main character, Amilya, can make the most serious situation seem amusing. Girls will like the Coloring Page that has a sketch of Amilya in her party dress. The author has included her three blogs that parents will find interesting. One of them provides tips for parents to help children through the learning process and reading. This story is recommended.
