Andrew Eustace Anselmi's The Autumn Crush is an epic read that spans three generations of an Italian family. The story highlights the life of protagonist Guy Bennett, the son of an immigrant who has, up until this point, been the epitome of the American dream. Wealth and power have come to his family through his hard work, intelligence, and the opportunities first afforded by his father’s determination. But when Guy is accused of the double murder of his business partner, Vito Petrozzini and Vito’s wife, it seems all may be lost for the Bennett family. When Guy’s defense takes us across the globe, and uncovers secrets about his family that shed new light on his case, The Autumn Crush takes an interesting and fascinating turn that is sure to thrill.

I very much enjoyed this book. Andrew Eustace Anselmi’s story takes us on a thrill ride of a murder mystery. This book grabbed me from page one and didn’t let go. The familial aspect of the story, the cultural underpinnings that inform these Italian and Italian Americans, the underlying themes of loyalty, respect and pride come through loud and clear. The Autumn Crush would appeal to any reader who loves mysteries, legal dramas, suspenseful thrillers, or just a plain good read. The only advice I have for someone picking up this book is to be sure you have enough time to read it in its entirety once you begin, because you won’t want to put it down. This is author Anselmi’s first novel, but I, for one, certainly hope it is not his last!
