If you are a fan of board games such as Monopoly and Cluedo, then The Billionaire’s List by Cortney Donelson is the book for you. Upon the death of her Great-Uncle Richard, Greta Goldman becomes the executor of his estate. Her job as an author keeps her busy and she thinks that settling her uncle’s estate will only take her a matter of days. However, Greta is in for a rude awakening when she meets Brian Gogh, her late uncle’s attorney. It looks like Great-Uncle Richard wants to send Greta on one last adventure before saying goodbye. The fact that people connected to Great-Uncle Richard are dropping like flies adds mystery to Greta’s newfound journey.

The novel opens with the death of movie director Charlie Garrison, which acts as a catalyst in the string of murders to follow. I am a murder-mystery junkie and I could not put this book down! Words cannot describe how quickly I devoured The Billionaire’s List by Cortney Donelson. Major themes centered on mystery, adventure, and gameplay in a sense. Despite their estranged relationship, and her last seeing Richard eight years prior, he named Greta the executor of his estate. Before she can settle the will, we are sent on a rollercoaster of emotions alongside our main character as she gets to know Richard better. Greta realizes that there was more to him than his billions. I loved seeing this development in Greta which closes the distance between her and the reader. All I can say is that you had better clear your schedule and get ready to snuggle up with a cup of coffee because you will not put this book down!
