The Book of Ezra: A Story of Provision and Protection (Daily Bible Reading Series) by Deborah H. Bateman is an ideal book for Christians who are more familiar with the Bible. This is a daily Bible reading aid for the Book of Ezra in the Old Testament. This book speaks about Ezra's leading the Israelites to rebuild the temple which was destroyed by the Babylonians when they took the Israelites captive. Ezra finds out that the ones who stayed back had married Canaanites and started to worship other gods. The book analyzes the deeper insights of God and how anything that happens outside God's will could hurt everyone.
It is an excellent read that reveals more about Ezra and the Old Testament. The chapters are succinct and written in a simple manner, ending with a short prayer and a few insightful questions which will help readers to reflect upon what they read. The book is an engaging read for everyone as it is written with clarity. The illustrations lend purpose to the topic. The book can also be used for daily devotions as the chapters are short and compact. It is a good Bible study. The fact that the author has targeted the layman while writing this makes it accessible to all types of readers. It is a great book that can be used in group study sessions, too.
