The Boy Who Loved Boats by Vilim and Ognjen Livada is an original story about Aaron and his love for boats. Aaron loved boats so much that he would either daydream about the water and boats, draw pictures of boats, or watch them at sea. He was so fascinated by boats that he had a desire to one day restore an old shipwreck that he would always see at Smiling Rock. Aaron’s parents did not share his enthusiasm for boats or anything associated with it. His parents preferred that he do better in school, play with other children, and help them in the garden. One day Aaron was introduced to a Master Boat Builder and became his apprentice. If you want to know if working with the Master Boat Builder helped Aaron and his parents' dilemma, pick up a copy of The Boy Who Loved Boats by Vilim and Ognjen Livada.

The Boy Who Loved Boats by Vilim and Ognjen Livada is an ideal book for children because Aaron is somewhat like your average child. All children daydream at some point in their lives, some longer than others. Each child is at a different level in their development. Through daydreams evolve not only dreams, but hope and inspiration. We, as parents, must help our children to have balance during this time and help them begin to tap into and channel the essence of their dreams. The illustrations help to display the story of Aaron and his desires, which are instrumental for a child to see that they are not alone. For that special child, The Boy Who Loved Boats by Vilim and Ognjen Livada is an ideal choice.
