This safety guide starts out with the U.S. Department of Justice statistics of female victims of all violent crimes. The results they have listed are staggering, and women need to be constantly aware of ways to live a safer life. The suggestions in this book will not stop criminal violence in your life, but they are good tips and examples to help you watch and be more careful. The main goal for this book is to show women how to be safer in this world. The Chapters in the book are: A Place to Live; Out and About; Traveling Safely and Miscellaneous Precautions: Thinking Safely. There are tips on coming in late at night, if you are in an accident or your car breaks down, staying in hotels when traveling, and many more.

This is a very helpful guide for women to keep with them at all times. It starts out with an introduction and why Ms. Thompson feels the need for this pocket guide. There are four chapters, and each is broken down into topics relating to the chapter. At the end of each chapter there is a page for personal notes. At the very end of the book you will find a couple pages of Resources to help with further tips on safety. This pocket guide is loaded with really good tips and suggestions. It was also very well planned and thought through, making topics easy to find. I suggest that every woman buy a copy of this pocket guide, read it and keep it handy.
