The Christmas Chronicles is a fascinating read. Time Slover takes readers back in time to 1343 where we learn, about Santa Claus’ childhood. A young orphan boy named Klaus is adopted. He learns the wood carving and quickly becomes a master toy maker. His greatest pleasure is making children happy. We watch as he meets and courts Anna. Before Klaus comes in to his magic he must face Rolf Eckhof his arch enemy. But fear not, the flying reindeers rush to his rescue.

Tim Slover is a multi-talented author. He takes traditional tales and weaves them into a story that is sure to become a family favorite. The story is entertaining and endearing. The characters come to life and walk off the pages. The plot is imaginative and fast paced. The story begins with the narrator watching a fast moving object fly past him. It then moves back in time to tell the beginnings of Santa Claus. The unanswered questions of many children are answered in this book.

Readers will recognize the cherished tales of Christmas and appreciate the way they are woven in the tapestry of The Christmas Chronicles. I look forward to reading this to my grandchildren.
