The Cowboy Next Door (This Old House Book 3) by Roxanne Snopek is a contemporary romance that brings dogs and babies into a charming story. Eric is a ex-rodeo star and sports agent who just wants to head home to Montana to relax for some peace and quiet. But the single mom next door has a different idea. Leda has no need for men in her life, thank you very much. She has a baby girl to raise and doesn't need another man muddling it up. Even an attractive man like Eric who makes her weak at the knees. Eric wants to be a knight in shining armor to Leda's damsel in distress, but first he has to get her to quit being so stubborn. If only Leda could quit looking back at the past and start staring at the future standing right in front of her...
The Cowboy Next Door is a sweet romance that pits two different styles of characters against each other and tries to bring them together so they can both have happiness. I liked Eric's character and his happy go lucky attitude. He thought he wanted peace and quiet, but it turns out what he really wanted was the sassy, mouthy Leda. Roxanne Snopek did a nice job of showing us that a person (or character) never really knows what they want. Leda thought that she was done with men, but again, she didn't realize that not all men are pigs and the right man is worth fighting for.
