The Day the Sun Didn't Rise by Robert Bossler is a beautiful picture book for young children. One day, the moon and stars were waiting for the sun to rise so that they could go to sleep, but darkness remained and the sun was nowhere to be seen. After pondering all of the possible explanations as to why the sun is missing, one brave star named Phoebe takes it upon herself to go and find it. After traveling for so long, the little star becomes tired, and falls to earth! Luckily, a young girl named Adelia rushes over to see if she is okay. Phoebe explains to Adelia that she is on the hunt for the missing sun. Adelia, who is also worried about the missing sun, decides to join the search and they both set out to find it. Will they manage to find the sun? And if so, where was it hiding, and why? Find out in The Day the Sun Didn't Rise.

The Day the Sun Didn't Rise was a joy to read. Robert Bossler has created an educational book for children that has a delightful storyline. Although the story mainly focuses on promoting bravery and determination, I found that it also gives a much more important lesson. It shows that anyone can feel alone in the world, even if you're the sun. I found this to be very important as it will hopefully teach children to be more outgoing when it comes to making new friends, especially the ones who seem to be alone. There's so much to discover in this wonderful book, and I hope to read more of Robert Bossler's work in the future. Good luck and keep writing!
