Cooper is dead. He's currently being weighed and measured in front of the panel of saints/angels/beings so that he can go to heaven or...down there. Luckily Lucy, Lucifer's sister, is on his side and wants Cooper to live up to his potential. He gets gets a second chance on earth to make it right by saving a lost girl named Grace. He is transported into a life far from the life on the streets and foster homes he once knew. The only thing is, this new life of suburbia, football, and family feels right. Cooper is fitting in smoothly, and wondering why. Why does his "best friend" watch him so closely? Why is the girl he loved dating someone else and afraid to talk to him? Can he figure everything out before his month is up and he has to return to the afterlife?
The Devil's Triangle is a fantastic blend of supernatural and realism. I actually really loved the plot. There was an originality and unique quality that I rarely see anymore in Paranormal/Young Adult fiction. Toni De Palma has crafted a cool and different story, maybe because the main character was male, but definitely with fun and awesome ideas. While the plot lost a little of its steam for me after the "big reveal" when you finally figure out what's going on, it was still a really original story that I enjoyed reading.
Toni has an excellent writing style. She does a good job capturing Cooper's voice, his masculinity, his brain, and his love for Grace. It was a really outstanding part of the book. This a great read for anyone who's into Paranormal/YA. It's a truly unique story that has great characters and a fascinating story line.
