The Farmer's Daughter by Joe Giampaolo follows young Charlotte Tobin who, after enduring a long five-year stint at Mrs. Brown's boarding school, returns home with newly learned behavior of how to act properly. Charlotte is the daughter of farmer Jacob Tobin, a rapidly aging man with worries about his farm's stability. A little into the story, a certain young man takes to Charlotte and asks for her hand in marriage. With the pressures of her aging father and worries about the farm, what will Charlotte's answer be? The Farmer's Daughter is a romance novella written from a narrator's perspective, allowing the reader to feel interactive within the story. This well-written romance novel had me hooked from the very first page. Joe Giampaolo has created a page-turning story that had me hoping for a happy ending from the second the main characters were introduced to me. The writing is so descriptive and that makes it easy for you to imagine the scenes clearly in your head. This isn't the typical genre I usually go for but once I read the synopsis, it had me intrigued, and I knew I wanted to read the book immediately. So much happens in the story and you lose yourself in the world Joe Giampaolo has invented. There were no flaws in the writing and it comes across as highly professional. Joe Giampaolo has amazing writing talent and I hope to see more of his work.
