Jack Collins is back! After barely escaping with his life from a dodgy NYC law firm, he’s now comfortably working at his own practice in Connecticut. Wanting to bring some additional credibility to his firm, he employs senior estate lawyer Tom Nelson. What he doesn’t know is that Tom is a thief and an embezzler, primarily of wealthy Greenwich estate owners. When Jack finds out, he must do everything possible to save his firm’s reputation. Then there's Jessica Baldwin, a probate judge, and Governor Daniel Milbank, both on the hunt for more power, assisted by Kyle Stone, who will do anything, and I mean anything, for them. As their paths cross Jack’s, he has many balls in the air. Can he save his firm and deal with the upcoming freight train of crises heading his way? Read The Final Account by Jeff Cooper to find out.

Book one of the Jack Collins series, After The Fact, had me excited for book two, and author Jeff Cooper didn’t let me down. In The Final Account, Jack’s now the one in charge and the one with the most to lose. I love the fact that with one child and one more on the way, he’s more settled in his family life, and he was in his professional life until one poor hiring decision opened a Pandora’s Box. While classified as a legal thriller, there’s very little legalese, which means readers don’t have to understand legal processes to enjoy this novel. Just like the first book, the action is seat-of-your-pants intense, and I rushed in turning the pages to get to the extremely satisfying climax. I really hope there are more books to come in this series, as Jack Collins is an exciting protagonist. Highly recommended.
