Caitlyn McCollum had spent years trying to escape her past. She changed her name to Katie and met the kind of man who would give her the things she wanted. Ethan was everything she had ever hoped for. But lately, everything she has worked so hard for is starting to crumble as Ethan starts asking questions and pressing for a commitment that Caitlyn isn't sure she is ready for. First, she has one last job to do. Unfortunately, the job involves working with the one man she is trying to forget. Jerrick was her first love and she can't seem to break free from his hold on her. They had spent years working together stealing artifacts and other valuables from all over the world. The choice must be made. If she chooses Jerrick, she knows she will never get the home and family she craves. If she chooses Ethan, she can have all of those things but she would lose the one man she has loved for so long.

I enjoyed reading "The Fire of Thieves" by Chacelyn Pierce. The story is well-written and I found myself routing for all sides on different occasions. I loved the happy ending although I thought the twist at the end with both of the men ending up being long-time friends is very far-fetched and detracted from my overall enjoyment of the book. Other than that, I enjoyed Chacelyn Pierce's writing very much.
