The Gathering Storm: Book 3 of The Paladin Chronicles is awesome. I like reading books that will become classics and Dr. Neil Port has created one here. This is the third book in an ongoing series. I can't wait to go back and read the first two but this one is a complete part of the tale and if it is the one you happen to come across first then go ahead and read it.
Dr. Neil Port has created a world and history that is close enough to our own that you see a lot of familiar characters and events but he has thrown in Magic and Elves so the history deviates enough to keep you surprised. There are a lot of interesting characters to love and hate. I found myself staying up late into the middle of the night to see what would happen next to Jacinta and the group of abused women she takes in that will be known as Amazons.
The details of ancient life, the complex system of magic, and the complicated characters are three of the things that stand out the most in The Gathering Storm: Book 3 of the Paladin Chronicles. This series is on a par with J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of The Rings in its depiction of an ancient world in eminent peril from the forces of evil and I do not make such a comparison lightly. If you love Fantasy and are looking for an epic series you should remember this name: Dr. Neil Port.
