Author Biography

Middle-grade author C. Wade Jacobs enjoys combining her favorite genres when writing: mystery, horror, and paranormal. Having read teen mystery classics like Lois Duncan’s Killing Mr. Griffin in her formative years, she was later influenced as an adult by her admiration of works by greats like John Saul, Mary Higgins Clark, and Stephen King. Her new release, The Ghostly Adventures of Jamie C. O’Hare: The Church Tower, represents her passion for this genre for the middle-grade reader.

C. Wade Jacobs and her family live with their dog and cat, Kenny and George, in Stittsville, Ontario, Canada. The Ghostly Adventures of Jamie C. O'Hare: The Church Tower, her debut middle-grade novel.

Twelve-year-old Jamie C. O’Hare and his family move to the little town of Black Creek for a fresh start after his father passed away. His older sister, Janine, is pretty and popular. She chooses not to associate with her brother and insists on bullying him. Their mom, Marion, is caring but she is too busy with her new job and their new home. Jamie is skeptical about the move to this small town that he has never heard of, but things take a turn for the better when he befriends Maggie and Angus. Jamie finally feels at home with his new friends, but he has a secret he is afraid will chase his friends away. He has creepy nightmares that seem real and sees and hears people and voices that other people can't. One day, the visions and voices are too much. Jamie finally shares his secret with his friends, and they all find themselves on a search to solve a mystery. Will Jamie and his friends uncover the truth before it’s too late?

C. Wade Jacobs' The Ghostly Adventures of Jamie C. O'Hare: The Church Tower is a fast-paced mystery with thrilling twists and turns that are sure to keep you on the edge of your chair! Young readers will definitely enjoy this story that is packed with adventure, suspense, mystery, and thrills. Jacobs did an amazing job on the characters. They were all very different and believable. I found myself rooting for the "good guys" and wanting to stand up to the bullies. C. Wade Jacobs' The Ghostly Adventures of Jamie C. O'Hare is a quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I hope to read more adventures with Jamie and his friends.
