If you like unusual plots that combine a bit of science fiction, fantasy, action, with some paranormal bits, then The God Thought by Dave Cravens would be a very good choice for you. In this novel, you get to meet Oliver, who lost his child and wife in a mysterious blast that took down the airplane the two were travelling in. A year after that blast, Oliver travels in a taxi and gets dropped off close to the highway with two choices: return to the highway or take the road less travelled. The story would not have gone far if Oliver had chosen the highway. He walks down a long road and eventually meets a farmer. A farmer he had dreamed about on the day of the blast. From that moment on, it all changes for Oliver because he is one of the few people who have received the God Thought from the farmer. But what is that thought, and who can you trust if you have an untapped source of limitless power hiding within you?
I finished reading The God Thought by Dave Cravens in just two days as the plot was very interesting and each page was very well written. The second half of the book becomes a bit crazy and you'll need to pay attention so you do not lose the plot, so to say. The characters in the story are rather interesting and refreshing - up to certain points you can't really be sure whether someone is a good or a bad guy. I also liked that the point of view was changed during various chapters, i.e. you had radio transcripts, email exchanges, text messages, and then the "normal" point of view which followed Oliver's experiences. I found it was a very good mix, and would definitely recommend this book.
