The Horseman's Tale by Tom Equels is an evocative story surrounding the life of Jake Montgomery, a Vietnam war veteran struggling with PTSD and extreme fits of rage triggered by the disorder. After his introduction to Written Exposure Therapy, Jake ultimately decides to journal the details surrounding his struggles with PTSD. His heartfelt entries include his romantic relationships, sexual exploration, drug-induced escapades, and war experiences. He harrowingly talks about the deaths of his wife and infant son, his failure to save them, and the fact that he holds himself responsible. Jake also relives his fascinating experiences with the racehorse culture. As he painstakingly recalls each significant aspect of his life, he finds comfort in journaling and a deep passion for training horses. Join him on this breathtaking journey as his life is slowly filled with renewed purpose.
Tom Equels' The Horseman's Tale is a captivating and highly engaging story that paints the protagonist as a broken man saved through his profound love for horses. He perfectly blends drama and intrigue, crafting an intense and enjoyable tale.
