The Independent Child: A Modern Day Story of Growing up and Happily Ever After! by Arwen Russo is a story of one girl's hard work and perseverance. Macy has two siblings, Ed and Yuna. They are all distinctive in their own ways and have different strengths and weaknesses. Their father is an engineer, and he raised them all to be strong individuals. If the family was faced with a difficult situation, all the members would join together to help. This led to Macy having a strong and independent nature. Macy developed her drive to succeed and how to be self-sufficient. When she was older, Macy moved to the big city. Thanks to the principles she learned from her family, she worked hard and managed to achieve success in life.

The Independent Child is a story about Macy’s journey to self-realization. She had dreams and wished to make her family proud. Macy is a familiar character because she goes through the ups and downs of life like everyone else. We all strive to find our place in society, a place that makes us happy and brings joy to our lives. The book includes pictures that show Macy, her family, and charming scenes. The colorful images make the book attractive for children and young adults. Arwen Russo has created a beautiful, inspiring, and relatable personality in Macy. The story can be enjoyed by anyone and will touch their hearts. The lovable characters are a pleasure. I wish everyone that reads this book a life full of happiness and success.
