This is another great book by Michelle. "Sunsinger Chronicles Book Four" is as entertaining and full of new plots as the first one.
A Sister High Scholar by the name of Marnya is on a secret mission and soon her whereabouts become too obvious. She has just met Bain, the young man who is the apprentice of the Sunsinger’s captain. The young boy saves Marnya from a scrape with some no good brothers and she has learned to trusted him and his captain Lin.
With her personal bodyguard, a very tall and dark-skinned man by the name of Jax, she asks to the Sunsinger captain to travel with her. Her reasons are sober. She wants to dissuade those who are closing in to kill her and to do some eavesdropping in the field unannounced. Nothing is better than doing an inspection when no one knows you are coming.
That is how the excitement starts for the captain and her young apprentice. They help every way they can so that the High order sister can do her work without fear. They visit different planets where Lin needs to get cargo and then a few that the Sister needs to visit.
Sometimes the four of them go together in disguise, others they pair up and pretend to be visitors or family. Bain is dyed the same color as the bodyguard to pass for his son.
Bain learns about spying and staying safe until he is kidnapped and all their efforts seem lost.
This book is a page turner for kids between the ages of 10-14. It is clean and very entertaining.
