John MacArthur has written a collection of prayers and gathered them in this beautiful book, “The Majesty of Prayer.” A statement in the front of this book sums up the reason for these prayers. MacArthur says: "My heart’s desire is that the prayers in this volume will inspire you toward more intimate communion with God, and will stir you to a heartfelt gratitude for the blessings He richly makes available to you." And these prayers did just that for me.
I don’t always read prayers, but I enjoyed these because they taught me how to pray better and how to be more specific. Some of the prayers in this book are: Delighting in God; God’s Kind of Love; His Mercies Endure Forever; The God of All Comfort; A Father Like No Other; Unending Grace; Celebrating His Great Mercy; He Is Our Everything and God’s Greatest Gift. And all of these and the rest of the prayers are encouraging, comforting and peaceful, and tell of God’s love, mercy and grace. To add to the effect of these prayers, awesome photos taken by photographer Dennis Frates have been added. On the front and back cover and on each page you will find beautiful, breathtaking landscape pictures that have a calming effect on the viewer. Overall, this is one of the most beautiful books I have read. This is a sure keeper. I strongly encourage you to pick up a copy of “The Majesty of Prayer” for encouragement and enjoyment. You will be happy with your investment.
