The Moon and Me is a dreamy, magical, read-aloud counting book for young children. The gentle rhythms of the text by Nielle P Marques track nighttime animals in the sky, on trees, on fences, on land, in the woods, and in the creek. Flying herons, watchful owls, howling wolves, playful cats, busy hedgehogs, and many other creatures awaken a sense of wonder, of a world coming alive when daytime fades. The words are carefully chosen to be meaningful to young readers and perfectly match the pictures. The refrain “I see the moon, and the moon sees me” brings a sense of calm and security, perfect for bedtime reading together.
The appealing illustrations, also by Nielle P Marques, capture the unique character of each animal and their wide-eyed wakefulness as they embark on their nighttime adventures and games.
