The Night of the Magical Flight: Exciting, Rhyming Bedtime Story/Picture Book for Beginner Readers by Melinda Kinsman is a charming storybook for kids. The story reminds readers of The Arabian Nights, and sees kids being taken on a magical journey where they run into a lot of adventures as the carpets fly and many strange things happen. The young boy in the story looks up and sees many carpets streaming by, and when he looks down, he sees dangers lurking, ships, and also a sea monster licking its lips. The stars, the wizards, the carpets, the sea monster, ships and the moonlit sky lend magic to a story that will captivate and enchant young readers. As the young boy encounters hardships and danger, will he be able to find his way home?
The rhyming verses are fun to read and the bright and colorful illustrations complement the author's words beautifully and lend clarity to the tale. The magical puzzles at the end of the book will encourage kids to search and gather more details. Parents and grandparents can use this as a good bedtime story book. It can also be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries. I enjoyed the story because it is colorful, creative and imaginative and will encourage kids to stretch their thinking power. Kids will definitely enjoy reading this and I liked the hidden objects that make the story unique and very innovative. An adventurous story that will take kids on a magical ride.
