The Other Side of Anger by Courtney Lea is a sizzling romance for both young adult and mature readers, a story with an interesting plot, great characters, and a strong conflict. Bryant has just discovered that she was adopted, a discovery that drives her to the edge of insanity, so she’s tracked down her biological father, only to see him die in his hospital bed. Having fainted, she wakes up in the strong arms of Orion Black, and what follows is an incredible attraction that will set them off on a stupendous sexual ride. But for how long can they stick together and how much sex will they enjoy before the thrill ebbs?
The opening is dramatic, bringing the reader right into the tension and the inner world of one of the key characters, Bryant: “I’d finally tracked him down, Tyler Monroe. The father who’d wrenched me out of my dead mother twenty-five years ago, then wrote me off with the stroke of a ballpoint.” What better premise could one expect for such a novel? The curiosity and interest of the reader are aroused right off the bat. And from this point on, there is no slowing down as Courtney Lea builds the emotional intensity of the story, introducing themes and the conflict in her inimitable, masterful style. The emotional intensity of the story comes neatly across to readers and the author has the gift of describing scenes, characters, and settings with forensic precision. Readers can feel the passion and the intimate joy of the characters in their giving and receiving of pleasure. Excellent writing, emotionally charged, and sexually intoxicating. The Other Side of Anger is the kind of book to read in your bedroom, a perfect aphrodisiac for lovers.
