Author Biography

My dream has always been to write books. Reading takes people places they dream to go and it's especially important for our youth to help shape their developing minds. I used to love to read to my son when he was younger. This experience was when I started desiring to become part of that culture to shape young adults through thought-provoking books. I want to provide readers with books to entertain their dreams and aspirations. Fast forward to now, after writing two fantasy books, I have become attached to the trade. I am currently writing a technothriller for adults that, hopefully, you won't be able to put down.

The Phantom Enforcer is a young adult fantasy novel by J.W. Jarvis. The story follows the adventures of Dani and Noah, two teenagers who discover a magical bookstore run by a mysterious witch. In each adventure, the two are transported into the lives of everyday heroes such as firefighters, police officers, and paramedics. In this installment, they experience what it is like to be a police officer and a dog on the K-9 unit. They witness a police chase, a drug bust, and a dangerous car theft. During the latter case, Dani and Noah encounter a familiar foe possessing phantom abilities like them. This realization makes them aware that the stakes are higher than before, and any wrong move could have catastrophic consequences, including the loss of innocent lives.

The Phantom Enforcer is a fast-paced, thrilling story that combines magic, time travel, and fantasy genres. It is the second book in the First Responder series by J.W. Jarvis, and it continues the action-packed adventures of Dani and Noah. I enjoyed getting to know these unique characters and their complex personalities. One thing that sets this book apart is that it educates readers on various jobs and the daily lives of frontline workers. It is not just about their jobs, but also their families and aspirations. The characters are all intriguing and add an element of mystery to the story. Tense moments will keep you on the edge of your seat. Overall, I loved this book and cannot wait to read more from this author and the series.

The Phantom Enforcer is the second book of J.W. Jarvis's First Responder Series. After stumbling across another magical book, best friends Noah and Dani find themselves again in the mystical realm. This time, Dani inhabits the body of the Chicago Police Department's rookie Officer Emmy Hernandez while Noah accompanies her as a phantom with supernatural abilities. As Dani and Noah become accustomed to fighting crime, witnessing the bravery shown by Officer Hernandez and her colleagues firsthand, they realize that their actions have ramifications in their own world. Additionally, they face their old nemesis, Kang, who is set on a devastating phantom rampage. Now, Dani and Noah must find a way to stop Kang's phantom rage and help a poor missing woman find her way back to the real world.

The Phantom Enforcer is another enthralling paranormal adventure from J.W. Jarvis. What impressed me most about the book and the series so far is how the author manages to tell an absorbing story while highlighting the sacrifices made by First Responders, in this instance, police officers, who take enormous risks to perform their duties to help people in need. The plotting is tight, and the narrative is smooth and moves at a brisk pace. Noah and Dani's friendly banter continues to entertain, and I especially enjoyed the focus on family dynamics, which made the characters feel even more multi-faceted. With a seamless mix of mystery, humor, action, and supernatural elements woven into the narrative, urban fantasy lovers are in for a treat. Recommended to both young adults and adults alike.

The Phantom Enforcer by J.W. Jarvis is the story of two tweens, Noah and Dani, best friends, engulfed in magical books where they get to play the characters in fiction stories while their actions inside change the course of reality. As Noah, the phantom, learns and evolves his powers, and Dani upskills as a police officer, their adventures become dangerous and even deadly. It’s up to them to change the course of events to remedy its catastrophic impact on reality. Working with the unsightly bookstore owner and witch, Mrs. Heks, they are determined to rescue society from the school bully, Kang, and the calamity he intends to inflict with his newfound powers and to reunite Mrs. Tanner with her newborn. Kang's and Tanner’s fates lie solely in the hands of two tweens with limited funds and freedom to rescue them.

The Phantom Enforcer by J.W. Jarvis is an adventurous, fascinating, and imaginative story that brings books to life in this supernatural narrative. Not only does Jarvis deliver an enchanting plot, but he also creates two compelling and charming characters whose personalities are each clearly defined, evoking and maintaining interest throughout. Dani is witty, independent, and responsible, while Noah’s unpredictable yet humorous actions and statements captivate one’s attention. The well-developed characters perfectly suited the storyline to create an entertaining narrative that makes me want to read the next book to discover how their next rescue mission unfolds. I enjoyed reading this book, which was well-written, with amusing dialogue and exciting adventures in every chapter.
