In The Platinum Sword and the Kingdom of Reveal, an epic fantasy novel by Cherry-Ann Carew and Dean Antoniou, Thomas staggered after feeling a painful prick on his ankle and landed flat on his stomach in front of a pixie. When Thomas patted the grass surrounding him, he discovered a concrete structure's handle and was intrigued by what it could be. Thomas was curious and intended to explore what was underground. He, Noah, Tamara, and Byron discovered a four-room bunker. Thomas was startled by a loud noise just as he came upon a sword that had been lying in the place for a while. The loud noise was the cover that had closed on them. Thomas, Noah, Tamara, and Byron now needed to find a way out of the bunker.

The Platinum Sword and the Kingdom of Reveal by Cherry-Ann Carew and Dean Antoniou is intriguing and fast-paced. I was hooked from the start and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. The fantasy locations and detailed descriptions of the surroundings and activities were so interesting. I was completely engrossed in a world where both humans and monsters existed, and it was an amazing experience. The characters were authentic and relatable. Thomas was definitely my favorite character. He had to take care of his brother who had asthma and keep Tamara and Byron safe. I was easily part of Thomas, Noah, Tamara, and Byron’s journey to find the Elite Warriors and ask for their help. This fantasy novel is brilliantly written, and I very much enjoyed reading it.

Thomas would prefer to focus on training for his upcoming sporting event. However, when he and his friends stumble upon what looks like a strange maintenance hole in his neighbor’s garden, his curiosity proves too strong to resist, and he opens it. Thomas and his friends find themselves mysteriously transported to the magical land of Elevassia, a kingdom in the middle of a violent war. Thomas wants to get himself and his friends back home as quickly as possible, but before he can do that, he must first help his new allies secure their homes. Adventure awaits in The Platinum Sword and The Kingdom of Reveal by Cherry-Ann Carew and Dean Antoniou

This novel by Cherry-Ann Carew and Dean Antoniou combines fantasy and action. The characters' conversations flow in a way that readers will find engaging. The younger characters, Tamara and Thomas, frequently speak about how to avoid getting into trouble with their parents, even when their situation makes it impossible for them to do so. Carew and Antoniou go above and beyond to explain the war's beginning, drawing the reader in as they comprehend the terrible events that send Aator down the dark path he travels. Boldrick and Thomas's adventures are colorful and thrilling, resembling the progressively unfolding stages of a captivating video game. Although the story revolves around intense physical combat, Carew and Antoniou include a romantic element, where Thomas gives Boldrick advice on pursuing his love interest. Adventure fans who enjoy well-rounded stories highlighting finer details will find The Platinum Sword and The Kingdom of Reveal appealing.

The Platinum Sword and the Kingdom of Reveal by Cherry-Ann Carew and Dean Antoniou brings to life a battle between good and evil. Thomas’s ordinary life comes to a screeching halt when he encounters a pixie and is drawn into an epic adventure in another realm. With his friends and brother at his side, Thomas is pulled into a battle against a tyrant set on revenge. Elevassia is one of five kingdoms and its people are in desperate need of a hero. The Land of Candronnia is on the brink of destruction and just as all seems to be lost, Thomas discovers that he was brought here for a reason: to help put a stop to the tyrant’s dangerous army. His path connects him with new friends and sends him on a journey that uncovers startling revelations.

Cherry-Ann Carew and Dean Antoniou do a great job of keeping Thomas connected to the world he left behind through his worry about family. These components add a realness to the fantasy and help to make Thomas a relatable hero. Suspense is built relatively early on through the pixie and their journey from one realm to the other by having them go through a literal underground trek. This is a clever way to build anticipation for fantastical elements while not making these feel abrupt and successfully keeping your interest. Spartacus is an ideal catalyst for this as he taunts Thomas with what is possible and is the first instance that makes Thomas question the existence of other beings. The fantasy world of Candronnia is where the action primarily occurs and is similar to where Thomas began, while the events after going to the other realm steadily build suspense. The presence of the forest is a creative way to create an ominous tone and sets the stage for the antagonist Aator and his army. Part of the journey is a quest that Thomas must undergo and face a multitude of creatures that he has never seen before, which keeps you on the edge of your seat. The Platinum Sword and the Kingdom of Reveal is a suspenseful and fantastical read that will appeal to a variety of ages from teens to adults with action, adventure, and fantasy making the perfect blend.
