It is suitable for the general reading audience and was penned author by L. A. Patterson. The book is a guide on how to utilize the idea of intermittent fasting to help lose weight by listening to your body’s needs and gradually transforming it into a machine that burns through fat quicker than you can consume it. With everything from the techniques and benefits of the diet to advice on how to make it work with your lifestyle, the book has everything a reader needs to get started.

I found it quite helpful to have a book on dieting written by someone whose focus was on their own experiences and results rather than a daunting and impenetrable wall of medical terms. Author L. A. Patterson writes about the diet, its benefits, and the techniques to make it work from my level and, in doing so, creates an accessible and easy-to-digest guide to making intermittent fasting work. This grounding in reality is an essential ingredient in this book's approach to honestly laying out the proposed diet and even accepting that it is not a one-size-fits-all approach. The honesty is deeply refreshing, and the discussion of intermittent fasting is given a great deal more gravity knowing that the author isn’t simply saying what they need to in order to sell the plan. Overall, The Powerhouse Diet is an interesting strategy for weight loss with a frank discussion on the process, and it could very well be the essential diet book you’re looking for.
