The Reason Why: True Stories of Past Lives, the Afterlife, and Other Spiritual Relationships by Debra Taubenslag is a well-written memoir based on Taubenslag’s years of experience in hypnotherapy and massage therapy. It combines real-life stories with lessons about past lives, the afterlife, spirituality, and soul connections. The book is divided into three parts. In the first part, Taubenslag shares her personal experience, showing how she went from being a non-religious person to a metaphysical teacher after her son was born prematurely—a psychic prediction that later came true. She explains how her clients’ experiences with past lives, auras, and spiritual beings helped her realize that a promise she made to God was coming true. The second part, written years later, takes a deeper look at the patterns and spiritual truths she found after years of healing work. It touches on topics like reincarnation, life between lives, soul families, and divine plans. The third part shares practical exercises we can follow to find our spiritual identity, past lives, and life purpose.
This was a lovely read. I am glad I found a book with a unique approach in discussing concepts like spiritual awakening, past lives, relationships, and the existence of a divine plan for every individual. The Reason Why is not just about the author; it is an inspiring, educational book that teaches insightful spiritual lessons. I loved how honest Taubenslag was in her writing and the warm tone she maintained. It made me think deeply and connect more with her journey. One of my favorite parts was where she explained how negative thoughts and feelings can lower a person’s energy and attract negative influence. The practical exercises at the end of this book were great, and I would love to try some of those concepts myself. I recommend The Reason Why by Debra Taubenslag to people who would love to know more about spiritual healings and past lives, and who want to understand their meaning and purpose in life.
