In a great new book by talented author Beth Hammond, The Sound of the Stones, readers are invited into a fantastic world filled with secrets, interesting beings, adventure and excitement. Our protagonist, Frankie, receives a book that tells the story of an era long ago, forgotten in the annals of time, in which people are held prisoner by half human creatures. Ashra, a young woman with a gift, isn't sure if she has what it will take to free humankind, but if she doesn't try, all might be lost. How are Frankie and Ashra connected? You'll need to read the book to find out!
I so, so enjoyed The Sound of the Stones. Author Beth Hammond has done an absolutely fantastic job in creating characters that her readers will relate to, connect with, and continue to think about long after the story is done. If that isn't a hallmark of a great author, I'm not sure what is. Her world creation abilities are second to none, and readers will feel as if they are absolutely a part of the story as they are reading. The main piece of advice I have for readers, besides being sure to pick up this book, is to have enough time set aside to read it from beginning to end; you'll not want to put it down once you start! I highly recommend this book to any reader who loves a strong work of fantasy with a good Christian message. I certainly hope that author Beth Hammond is hard at work on her next offering. I, for one, will definitely be in line to read it!
