The Spirit Of Truth Is Power: Reviving Faith In Jesus Christ by Joan Jessalyn Cox is a book that explores the truth about the message of Jesus in the Bible, not a sentimental approach to the truth, but one that allows readers to seek the paths of God in honesty and sincerity of heart. In the author’s words, it is about “Truth that is scripturally verified; Truth that is sound in Holy Spirit revelation; and Truth that should be prayerfully received.” This is an inspirational book that comes across as a gift to be received in faith.

As I read through these pages, I felt inspired, admonished, and greatly encouraged to continue on the path of seeking God’s truth. I didn’t doubt for a moment that Joan Jessalyn Cox has a wonderful gift of faith and that she communicates it with simplicity and authority. Her writing is infused with the knowledge and wisdom of one who has listened attentively to the word of God and who tries to translate it into their life. She makes ample use of scriptural references, helping the reader discover the hidden life that flows through the scriptures, and unveiling truths that readers will love to contemplate, embrace, and use to transform their lives. The writing is friendly and the core message of the book can’t be mistaken. The Spirit Of Truth Is Power: Reviving Faith In Jesus Christ is a powerful book, a reflection that readers need, especially in this day and age when what arrests our attention most are falsehoods crafted by the media to manipulate readers.

If you're a Christian hoping to develop a deeper relationship with the Lord, you can quickly find yourself drowning in an ocean of religious study books. The options are endless, but sometimes they don't get as deep into the Word as you'd want them to. That's where Joan Jessalyn Cox and her new book The Spirit Of Truth is Power: Reviving Faith In Jesus Christ come in. It's an in depth look into the Scriptures to do two things: develop your connection with God and learn how to foster relationships in a healthy Christian way. This is at the same time welcoming to new Christians while also revealing knowledge that even more mature Christians may not yet know.

I was a little skeptical when I first read the synopsis for this book. I have read quite a few Bible study books and I was fairly sure this one wouldn't bring anything new to the discussion. But Cox has written a pleasant surprise. There was a lot of information and insight packed into this book, and you could easily build a group Bible study on this content. Where Cox falters is mainly in the cosmetic department. A good cover designer could work marvels for the marketability of this gem of a book. And an editor could help polish it to perfection. There were points where some clarity in sentence structure was needed. But, all in all, I look forward to what else this author will bring to the table in future works.

The Spirit Of Truth Is Power by Joan Jessalyn Cox is an instructional Christian spiritual guide for Christians that will help make the scriptures more understandable, and help readers discover deeper meaning in the truth of God's word. Using points verified by scripture, readers will receive spiritual counseling as their education in the Bible is expanded. In the text Cox reiterates again and again that their mission and greatest desire is to aid all Christians in blossoming in the faith to become one with the teachings of Jesus Christ and according to His Holy Spirit.

The Spirit Of Truth Is Power by Joan Jessalyn Cox is a great instructional manual for Christians who feel lost or uncertain in their faith, and who are looking to restore the power and healing of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Any Christian who opens these pages will leave feeling restored and invigorated in themselves and their purpose in this world. I found The Spirit Of Truth Is Power very easy to read and understand, as Cox reiterates seeking truth again and again. Excerpts from the scriptures are used liberally to broaden our understanding of the scripture and how it relates to our own conduct as well as the burden of sin. I imagine this will be an often reread and much highlighted body of texts. Part of the series Foundational Faith in Truth Bible Study Books, The Spirit Of Truth Is Power by Joan Jessalyn Cox ministers to those looking to serve and be transformed. It provides a great first step to a most enriching relationship.

“And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set ye free.” John 8:32 sets the backdrop of the book, The Spirit Of Truth is Power: Reviving Faith In Jesus Christ, a Christian non-fiction read. The author, Joan Jessalyn Cox, extensively discusses how you can enjoy liberty that is a consequence of growth and maturity in the word of God. Further, she examines the importance of studying God’s word consistently and diligently in order to understand God’s perfect plan for the believer, and the devastating effects of distortion, misquoting and erroneous translations of the Bible. Joan Jessalyn Cox admonishes every believer to set aside traditions, rituals, opinions and any other presumed truth that contradict God’s word. Included in The Spirit Of Truth is Power is the critical role of the holy spirit alongside prayer in the process of growth.

What stood out for me in the book was Joan Jessalyn Cox’s passionate appeal to me as a believer, to die to self and pursue truth based on the word of God. Reading the book encouraged me to grow and develop spiritual hunger in the quest for the true meaning of God’s word. I also liked that Joan Jessalyn Cox examines other virtues of Christianity that are founded on the word of God such as faith, hope, love, and grace. Additionally, I learned the importance of establishing God’s word as the spiritual authority in my life. It is clear that the author is passionate about helping believers grow and stand out in their faith. Reading The Spirit Of Truth is Power served as a challenge to me to continue growing in my relationship with God.

The Spirit Of Truth Is Power: Reviving Faith in Jesus Christ by Joan Jessalyn Cox is a timely book that offers powerful lessons to readers, especially Christians who want to take their relationship with God seriously. In an age like ours, where the value of truth becomes something that is subjective and considered relative, this book unveils the hidden power of truth, the truth that is Christ-centric and that is deep-rooted in the word of God. When Jesus proclaims himself as the “Truth,” what does He really mean? In these pages, readers will understand the liberating truth of the Gospel and the power of embracing the faith in Jesus Christ.

This book will help readers go beyond being Christians who merely go to church on Sunday to becoming people who act with conviction, informed by the faith they share in the wonderful message of Jesus Christ. This book is both a gift and a challenge — a gift in that it offers wonderful teachings to help readers enhance their faith, and a challenge in that it compels readers to embrace the radical truth of the Gospels, which isn’t always easy. The Spirit Of Truth Is Power: Reviving Faith in Jesus Christ is the book for readers who want to take their spiritual and moral lives seriously, following closely in the path of Jesus and making a difference in their community. The book is well written and readers will love Joan Jessalyn Cox’s eloquence and wisdom while navigating the beautiful path she creates in her work. A gift to pass on, indeed!
