Welcome to “The Sword of Steel: Save the World Academy Part I” by James K. B. Brough, where the fate of the world lies in the hands of our youth! Jade Steel’s twisted father has big plans; he wants to take over the world and destroy its beauty and many wonders, using sixteen-year-old Jade as his deadly secret weapon. Her opponents are an unlikely group of teens from the aptly named Save the World Academy. These teens are trained to overcome their fears and hone their survival skills in four different Houses, Bear Valley, Falcon Nest, Shark Tank, and Snow Leopard, each house representing different elements to the skills they will be needing while showing them WHAT they are saving from Steel’s destructive grasp. Together, these kids will stand against Steel, Jade and Steel’s robotic army in a time honored position that only very few are qualified for. Who will win this battle for Earth? Who will survive?

Ever find a hidden gem to read? I did with James Brough’s first installment of his 'Save the World Academy' series and his clever use of real teen characters with all the angst, immaturity, twisted humor, daring, and sense of indestructibility that come with the age! This is an enchanting read that hooked me from page one with its fast pace and quirky characters as they were melded into a singular team with a mission while keeping their youthful charm! The imaginative world-building made me the fly on the wall watching the action! I want more!
